- Extending your umich.edu email access: If you want to extend your email beyond your end date: Prior to leaving the University, your PI/advisor can ask your departmental HR administrator to extend your email privileges beyond the termination date. This will allow you, for example, to forward emails sent to your umich.edu address and create an automatic reply, listing your new position and new email address.
